Tour to Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar is located at maximum elevation of 6714 meters. It is also known as Tise, Kailasa & Kang Rinpoche. Apart being a religious place of historical importance. This place is of anonymous natural beauty. It is to some extent a challenging tour as it includes both driving as well as hiking. Adventure seekers are mostly prefer to visit this place as well as it is also a pilgrimage tour so it is not just bound to the adventure seekers. People of different religion visit this place with a huge cultural and religious aspect.
Day 01: Kathmandu - Nylam, (3750 m, 155 kms)
Today we take a drive to Nyalam from Kathmandu across the greenery of Nepalese countryside, along the Bhote Koshi River, right up to the Nepal-Tibet border. After we reach the border we will drive on the steadly climbing road to the town of Zhangmu finally to Nyalam. Overnight at hotel in Nylam
Day 02: Nylam -Pelgu, (4595 m, 57kms)
We head towards Pelgu Tso through the Thong La Pass. Before climbing the road takes us to Lalung La Pass. From here we will have an incredible view of Shisha Pangma (8012 M). Today will be a camping day.
Day 03: Saga, (4280 m)
Today early morning we drive from our camping site to Saga, a typical Chinese and Tibetan town. This town is the gateway to the pilgrims who are visiting Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar.
Day 04: Paryang, (4750 m, 255 kms)
We drive 145 Km drive from Saga to Zhongba, 4 to 5 hours drive. In Zhongba there is a small monastery at the western end of town. On our way we can take a stop to visit the monastery if you wish to. Roads beyond Zhongba are very bumpy and dusty but the scene are very eyecatching.
Day 05: Lake Manasorovar, (4560 m, 260 kms)
Today we drive towards Lake Manasarovar, the road is very dusty and bumpy so it can take arouns 10 hours to reach there. On the way we will pass several rivers and we will pass Mayum La pass too. The views and scenes are stunning. Upon our arrival to Manasarovar we do camping.
Day 06: Darchen (4560 m, 30 km)
Darchen is around 30 Km north from our area. Darchen is the main gateway for the Kailash pilgrims. Here we will arrange yak or ponies for Kailash Circuit trek.
Day 07- 09: Kailash Circuit Trek - Diraphuk : (6 hrs)
Kailash circuit covers three days of trekking. It is 53 Km long as well as it’s not an easy route to trek on.
Dasrchen to Diraphuk trek will take about 6 hours of hiking and After that we will cross Dolma La pass at the height of 5630 m and frozen Lake of Gouri Kunda at 5608 m. This is the lake where Hindus worship and immerse themselves in icy water of the lake. The final day will be comparatively easy 2-3 hours of walk down to where the river emerges on to the Barga plain.
Day 10: Lake Manasorovar exploration
Today is a rest day also to explore the Manasarovar area on your own. You can explore the meditation caves, take a bath in the holy water of Manasaovar Lake or can just pass the peaceful hours in the Chiu Gompa.
Day 11: Lake Manasorovar – Paryang
Today we drive from Paryang to Manasarovar to go back to Paryang. As you already know it will take long due to bumpy ride with fantastic sceneries.
Day 12: Paryang–Saga
Today we drive from Paryang to Saga and overnight at Saga.
Day 13: Saga-Nylam
Drive from Saga to Nyalam through the barren plains of Tingri. The Nyalam city is a place where you will spend the night at hotel with cozy rooms.
Day 14: Back To Nyalam to Kathmandu
Today after the morning breakfast you will drive about an hour from Nyalam to Zhangmu, through the winding downhill road offering you fantastic views of beautiful waterfalls. A few kilometers drive from Zhangmu will take you to the friendship bridge on the Bhotekoshi River, which separates Tibet from Nepal. Then we get back to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Katthmandu to Nepalgunj by flight. O/N Hotel
Day 02: Nepalgunj to Simikot by flight. O/N Hotel
Day 03: Simikot to Dharapori (3-4 hrs trek). O/N Hotel
Day 04: Dharapori to Kermi (5-6 hrs trek). O/N Lodge
Day 05: Kermi- Yalbang (visit gumba). O/N Lodge
Day 06: Yalbang- Tumko (6-7 hrs trek). O/N Lodge
Day 07: Tumkot - Yari - Shivshiv. O/N Lodge
Day 08: Shivshiv- Hilsa through Chorlagna pass. O/N Lodge
Day09: Drive from Hilsa to Manasarovar. O/N Lodge
Day 10: Manasarovar to Darchen (drive).
(Darchen is a small city from there further drive to Sherlung and head Darpache to overnight at very basic lodge)
Day 11: Darpache- Dolma La Pass and further place to Camp. O/N tent.
Day 12: Trek to Zu Thue Phug- Darchen and drive back to Manasarovar. O/N lodge.
Day 13: Drive to Tokhen towards Tatopani. O/N Lodge
(It takes 3 nights to reach the border, on the 4th day, cross the boarder and drive back to Kathmandu)
