The Langtang Circuit Trek is a wonderful opportunity to explore the Langtang region situated in the Rasuwa district of central Nepal. Langtang Circuit Trek is considered as the third popular trekking routes in Nepal as it provides a wonderful chance for the domestic tourists and trekkers to visit the holy Gosaikunda Lake which falls on the way of the trek. Langtang Circuit is also equally popular among the foreign trekkers and tourists as the Gosaikunda Lake is not just popular for being a major pilgrimage destination for the Hindus but also for the natural beauty it commands. Langtang Circuit Trek also provides a chance to behold the great natural beauty of the Langtang region along with the great Himalayas to the North including the Langtang mountain peak. Also the rich Rhododendron and bamboo forests along with the peculiar flora and fauna add to the glory of the Langtang Circuit Trek. This village is less trodden and natural. Though it lies just near the capital city, the waves of pollution, modernization and urbanization has not yet touched the environment.
The Langtang Circuit Trek begins from the ancient city of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Syabru Besi is the starting point of the Langtang Circuit Trek. Few hours of drive from Kathmandu is enough to take you until Syabru Besi, a wonderful little village located on the banks of Bhote Koshi River. From Syabru Besi, the trail attains gradual elevation as you cross several rivers, forests, Sherpa villages and finally to the protected region of Langtang National Park. The holy lake of Gosaikunda falls under the premises of Langtang National Park. Kyanjin Gompa with the altitude, which falls midway between the trail, is also one of the attractions of the trek for the presence of a popular Buddhist monastery. It also provides the opportunity to explore the village of Melamchi, situated quite near from Kathmandu, during the return journey.

Day 01: Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal, the Land of the Himalayas! You will be guided to the hotel by a Great Nepal representative once you arrive at the airport. You will have the rest of the day to do whatever you wish to do: get some sleep, stroll around or party hard. Well, do whatever that suits you. Later, you will participate in a gathering of other trekkers and guides and also be handed over the equipment necessary for the trek.
Day 02: Drive to Syabru Besi (1450 meters) 7 hrs
Seven hours drive from Kathmandu will take you to Syabru Besi on the second day. It is located to the North of Kathmandu Valley and the drive is quite pleasant as you pass through some scenic beauty along the Trishuli River via Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa district. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel (2500 meters) 5 hrs
On the third day, you commence your trek as you cross the Bhote Koshi River and follow along the Langtang River. This trail gradually ascends through dense bamboo forests. You trek close to 1000 meters on the third day as the popular Lama Hotel is located at an altitude of nearly 2500 meters. The destination for the third day is the Lama Hotel where you will be staying for the night.
Day 04: Trek to Langtang (3330 meters) 5 hrs
On the fourth day, you cover almost 900 meters in a day as you reach Langtang valley on the fourth day of the trek. The trek route follows the route of ‘Ghoda Tabela’ which in Nepali means the Horse stable. Leaving the stable you move on and the trail becomes quite steady as you have to cross beautiful scenery watching the Himalayan Yaks grazing on the field. Langtang village is one of the oldest villages in Nepal and the view of breathtaking Himalayas from Langtang is quite famous. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3900 meters) 4 hrs
Get up, perform some stretching exercise to warm up your body and get all set for your trek . You take a heavy breakfast and start your trekking from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa which despite being mere 500 meters is quite fascinating because you come across several Cheese factories that are quite popular for the quality of cheese they produce. Moreover, there are several Buddhist monasteries in Kyanjin and the most popular one is the Kyanjin Gompa which is well known among the tourists. You will pass through the largest Mani Wall in Nepal made from stone with prayers written on them. You will cross many wooden bridges and slowly get into the high altitude. The surrounding of Kyanjin Gompa is surrounded with many Himalayas. You can go around and capture the chirpings of birds, grazing Yaks, beauties of glaciers & icefalls. Relax with the cosy environment in guest house for that night.
Day 06: Back to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin 5 hrs
On the sixth day you have to return to The Lama Hotel from the most beautiful Kyanjin Gompa. As it is a downhill climbing, it takes less than five hours to reach Lama Hotel. Relax with the cozy environment in guest house for that night.
Day 07: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2250m) 5hrs
On day seven, you have to further descend from the Lama Hotel enjoying the natural beauty on display. While on the route to Thulo Syabru, you may also be privileged to see more of Red Pandas, monkeys and various rare species of birds. Thulo Syabru is a wonderful traditional village in Rasuwa which also offers unadulterated views of the Ganesh Himal (7110 meters), Langtang Himal and other mountain ranges. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 08: Trek to Shin gompa (3330 Meters) 5hrs
Equip yourself with some heavy breakfast and head towards Shin gompa from Thulo Syabru on the eighth day of the itinerary enjoying the views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and other mountains and forests. There is a popular local cheese factory and a Buddhist monastery in Shin gompa. The cheese factory in Shin gompa is considered as one of the best cheese production centers in Nepal. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 09: Trek to Gosaikunda, the frozen lake (4300 Meters) 6hrs
From Shin gompa, you steadily climb up and make your way to the holy lake of Gosaikunda. The trek undoubtedly gives an exotic feeling. You follow a rugged terrain trail littered with the dramatic views of the Manaslu Himalaya Range, Ganesh Himal and the Langtang Himal. On a clear day, even the Annapurna Mountain Range is visible to the North. The first view of the holy lake of Gosainkunda can be alarming as the bluish lake takes your breath away. There are around a dozen of lakes in the Gosainkunda region. Others being the Saraswati kunda and Bhairab Kunda. According to the Hindu legend, Gosaikunda Lake was created by Lord Shiva when he pierced the glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after he swallowed poison that threatened to destroy the whole world. The trail is really breathtaking. It is believed that there are said to be 108 lakes in the immediate area of Gosainkunda. Take a deep sleep missing all the memories that are stuck around your memory with the blessing of Holy Kunda.
Day 10: Trek to Gopte (3430m) 6hrs
The most challenging day of the trek comes after you leave the holy lake of Gosaikunda on the tenth day of the itinerary. You pass through several green forests, mountain rivers and small lakes before crossing the Laurie Binayak-La Pass. Crossing the path is the most difficult portion of the trek and the trail then follows up and down around the hillside under forbidding cliffs where you can see sweet juniper, colorful rhododendrons, sparkling clear,beautiful streams and himalayan waterfalls. They inspire you a lot to overcome the way easily. It is relatively comfortable until you reach Gopte. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 11: Trek to Melamchi Village (2560m) 5hrs
Trek from Gopte to Melamchi is quite exhilarating as the trail now descends continually along several settlements areas of Sherpas. The trekkers will also have the chance to interact with the local villagers while climbing down the trail. After 3 hours of trekking, you will reach Thadepati Pass(3690 m), a traditional local village. A couple of hours of trek from Thadepati takes us to the beautiful village of Melamchi . Drinking water project of Melamchi has been popular for quite some years now. Enjoy a cosy night with a beautiful sound of pure and bluish water of Melamchi River.
Day 12: Trek to Tarkeghyang (2590m) 5hrs
After stretching your body, take heavy breakfast with local community and explore the wonderful cultural region of Helambu. Helambu is especially known for its rich Sherpa culture. Do not miss to taste the delicious apples in season from Helambu region. The people of this community practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national region of Bhutan . You then walk up to Tarke Gyang which boasts of several beautiful monasteries along with the traditional Sherpa culture. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 13: Trek to Sermathang (2600m) 4hrs
On the 13th day, you further explore the Helambu region as you leave Tarke Gyang and head towards Sermathang. Sermathang is also equally beautiful village and offers some of the older Sherpa cultures and traditions.There are impressive views of Dorje Lhakpa and looking Northeast is the Panch Pokhari lake, part of the Jugal Himal Trek. Rest your body and mind with a pleasant breeze from the himalaya.
Day 14: Back to Kathmandu 3hrs
After a short walk to Melamchi Bazaar, vehicles are available for travelling until Kathmandu Valley. A couple of hours drive from Melamchi Bazaar takes you back to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival to Kathmandu, you will be dropped to the hotel. Take full rest to kill the fatigue of trekking at hotel.
Day 15: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
You will be silently awake up with a morning alarm. After your delicious breakfast, Our tour guide will be waiting you in a car to perform Kathmandu sightseeing. You will visit the tourist hub of Thamel and the several world heritage sites, temples, monasteries in and around Kathmandu specially Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Monkey Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square etc. Please do not forget to charge your camera's batteries full, otherwise you have to regret not being able to capture the beauty of Kathmandu.You can also purchase souvenirs to your beloved one and family members back home from Kathmandu. Take rest at hotel and recall your trekking days since it will be your last night in Nepal.
Day 16: Departure from TIA, “Farewell!"
Your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! Our representative will escort you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way to home, you have plenty of time to plan for your next adventure tour in the wonderful Himalayan country. There will be heart touching relationship between you and our company during this journey. We will be missing you and praying for your safe departure to home.
