A Brief History Of Trekking

        Seasons For Trekking In Nepal

          Nepal Trekking Season generally are best at two times-after fall and during the spring. The following months from the mid of September to the mid of December are considered the best period for trekking in The Himalayas. Nepal's climate varies with its topography and altitude, ranging from the tropical to the arctic. During the indicated period of time, we experience a moderate and pleasant climatic condition which is neither very hot nor very cold which aids in making the views of the hills and mountains all the more mesmerising.

              Great Nepal Treks has joined forces with the International Porter Protest Group, which has developed guidelines for the proper treatment of porters including the assurance of proper equipment of porters, proper shelter arrangements, proper food, cooking equipment and water, proper medical care for sick or injured porters, insurance where available, acceptable weight limits on loads, and fair wages.             

              Types of Trekking

                Trekking in Nepal can be divided into mainly three types of trekking namely camping trek, teahouse trek and guide and porter trek. Camping trek is one of the most adventurous, fully organized, supportive and enjoyable trek for the trekkers. Camping trek is not suitable in every of the trek most appropriate in unbeaten trekking trials.

                  Recently, The Government of Nepal has been maintaining the record of trekkers and checking the illegal operation in trekking business, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have occurrence to put into operation the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) since 1st January 2008. 

                  Trekking Grade

                    Trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal requires sound health, stamina as well as patience. Any person with these,has what it takes to trek.Trekking in Nepal can be done by all levels of trekkers and is simply a matter of will. People with heart or respiratory problem are suggested not to but with good consultation with doctors you may embark on the trek you want to. But one thing to bear in mind always, is to never make a mistake of overestimating oneself.

                    Trekking Permit

                      A valid permit is required for certain areas to visit or trek, which we will obtain upon your arrival. We will require two working days and two passports size photographs. Permits are not required for the Annapurna, Everest and Langtang treks. However, conservation fees are required for these national parks.
